Toplat is a family owned manufacturer of high-quality cherry pickers based in the city of Bundaberg in the Wide Bay-Burnett region of Queensland.
Company Director, Bob Johnstone, bought the company in 2006 and adapted the existing machines to suit a variety of fruit harvesting.
Bob’s working life started as an apprentice Fitter & Turner at Massey Ferguson Australia in 1976, building cane harvesters in Bundaberg. Following the completion of his apprenticeship, Bob worked at local Bundaberg manufacturer Austoft and continued to provide harvesting equipment to the sugar cane industry.
After a few years in the hydraulic industry, Bob branched out on his own with Burnett Mobile Hydraulics in 1986, and his extensive knowledge of hydraulic design and component selection has resulted in the development of Toplat cherry picker’s simple, reliable and effective hydraulic system.
